ROMA CLIMATE CAMP
VOI G20, NOI G~siamo tuttə L’ alternativa
Il 30 e 31 ottobre i “grandi” del G20 si incontreranno a Roma per provare a dare una verniciata di verde alle stesse ricette liberiste che hanno causato l’attuale crisi ecologica e sociale. Negli stessi giorni continuerà l’onda delle mobilitazioni che in questi mesi hanno portato in piazza in tutta Italia l’alternativa, fatta di rabbia, gioiosa determinazione e di proposte concrete.
Per continuare a costruire quelle proposte, tessendo reti e rapporti sempre più solidi, invitiamo tuttu a un Climate Camp a Roma, dal 28 sera al 1 mattina, in cui ci sia spazio per il confronto tra movimenti e individui, per incrociare esperienze e proposte, per vivere momenti di azione, mobilitazione e convivialità che siano carburante per le sfide che ci attendono.
Sarà anche l’occasione per incrociare la preziosa esperienza della gira zapatista, incontrando le delegazioni e il gruppo del consiglio nazionale indigeno che proprio in quei giorni saranno presenti a Roma.
E’ la prima volta che un incontro del genere si svolge a Roma, emblema della città insostenibile dal punto di vista ecologico e umano, attraversata da diseguaglianze sociali e vertenze che spesso vanno molto oltre il territorio cittadino.
Vogliamo fare in modo che questa sia un’opportunità per riflettere sul ruolo delle città nell’attuale modello estrattivista, per provare insieme a ribaltarlo.

ENGLISH VERSION:
On 30 and 31 October, the global powers of the G20 will meet in Rome to try to greenwash the same neoliberal policies that have caused the current ecological and social crises.
On the same dates, the wave of mobilisations that in recent months have brought an alternative to the streets of Italy will continue with righteous indignation, joyful determination, and concrete proposals.
In order to continue to build upon those proposals and weave together more robust networks and relationships, we invite everyone to a Climate Camp in Rome from the evening of the 28th to the morning of the 1st. It will serve as a space for discussion between movements and individuals, to exchange experiences and ideas, to share moments of action, mobilisation, and conviviality that will be the fuel to help us face the challenges ahead. It will also be an opportunity to learn from the valuable experience of the Zapatista movement, a delegation of which will be guests at the camp.
This is the first time such a meeting of movements has been held in Rome, an emblem of the unsustainable city from both an ecological and human point of view, rife with social inequalities and disputes that often go far beyond the city’s territory. We want to make this an opportunity to also reflect on the role of urban environments in the current extractivist development model and work together to overcome it.
